How is it possible that we’re already practically in the middle of November? Last Thanksgiving feels like it was only just last week. Things are moving waaaay too fast.
Lots of little bibs and bobs this week…
Did revisions on Issue Two of PROJECT SOLSTICE. Issue Three is already due next week. Art and designs are starting to come in and they look remarkable.
Speaking of, we had our first official production meeting for PROJECT ARTERY today. I can’t believe how fast this sucker is coming together.
Casting continues apace for LA Law. So many wonderfully talented actors out there. We really have an embarrassment of riches. And we delivered another pass of the script per ABC’s notes. Moving right along…
Even though we haven’t even announced PROJECT ENCORE, a new creator-owned comic I’m doing with [REDACTED], there’s already some Hollywood interest. Ordinarily, I’d never put the cart before the horse this way, but the aforementioned interest is too amazing to pass up, so I spent a chunk of time crafting and revising a pitch for the feature film version.
I also did some revisions on the pitch for PROJECT MARBLE. It’s cousin, PROJECT GRANITE, is getting jealous. (It’s only a matter of time before I get a “check in” email from those producers.)
The new draft of PROJECT FROST went to [REDACTED] today as part of the first look deal I have with them. Very excited.
It’s not writing related at all, but yesterday I got the exciting news that the middle school mock trial team that I coach had scores that were high enough to win them a bye in the playoffs, so they’ll be advancing straight to the quarterfinals. This will be the first quarterfinals appearance in the school’s history. I’m so proud of these kids and so grateful I get to work with them.
It’s nearing the end of the work day and I still have a ton of items I need to catch up, or sign off, on so I’m going to cut this one a bit short. Have a great weekend.
Be good to each other.
Best,
Marc
