Well, well, well. It’s been an interesting couple of weeks filled with lots of little (and some not so little) updates. Let’s dive in…
LA LAW
We are officially in pre-production, which means constant Zooms, location scouts, meetings about frozen heads, and casting, casting, casting. In fact, we’ve almost rounded out our ensemble of series regulars and have begun making those announcements. You can read the first one here. More will be announced soon.
My partners and I are extremely excited about the cast that we’re building. These actors are not only immensely talented, they’re also genuinely nice people. I’m really looking forward to working with them.
STAR WARS: HAN SOLO & CHEWBACCA
This one’s moving along swimmingly. If you haven’t been following artist David Messina’s Instagram, you’re missing out on the wonderful nuggets he’s been teasing.
And while we’re on the subject of art, here are Phil Noto and Adam Hughes’ covers for Issue 2:
MOON KNIGHT
This past week also saw the announcement of a ten-page story for a new Moon Knight anthology series called MOON KNIGHT: BLACK, WHITE & BLOOD.
Artist Jorge Fornés and I will have a 10-page story in the inaugural issue. Jorge has done a brilliant job with this story with art that gives me major David Mazzucchelli vibes. He (Jorge, not David) teased a panel on Twitter:
And I have to tell you that Jorge has the patience of a saint, because I didn’t write just any story. The entire thing unfolds backwards à la MEMENTO. Quite frankly, it’s a miracle Jorge didn’t print out my script, roll it up, and beat me to death with it. To the contrary, his wonderful enthusiasm has been infectious. I’m really looking forward to you getting to check it out.
And the icing on the cake? The one and only Bill Sienkiewicz — seminal Moon Knight artist and industry legend — drew the cover for Issue One:
You can read about the anthology series at Newsarama.
PROJECT ENCORE
This is a project I’ve been teasing in these pages for a while. However, we’re not quite ready to go public yet. Nevertheless — and, coincidentally, on the same day — we had two rather exciting developments. First, we made the decision to publish this series, not as a series, but rather as an original graphic novel. This decision was made for a variety of artistic and market-driven reasons and it’s absolutely the right one. It is, quite simply, what the project wants to be.
The second development is that we got some major movement from a major studio to develop the graphic novel as a film through an A-list director’s production company starring an A-list actor (who is, simply put, the perfect choice for the role).
Yeah, that’s a lot of tease and no specifics. They’ll come. Playing the long game here…
LAST FLIGHT OUT
We’re closing in on the home stretch, with the team commencing work on Issue 6. The book just seems to get more and more gorgeous somehow. Here are some pages from Issue 5 from Eduardo Ferigato, Natália Marques, and Diego Sanches.
Well, I’m off to an LA Law location scout. Have a great weekend and be good to each other.
Best,
Marc

That Moon Knight story looks AMAZING!
Late to the party! For some reason I thought I was signed up a long time ago! Exciting stuff, especially the Project Encore stuff and the Moon Knight concept seems really cool. ~DH
