Well, this has been an eventful little week (and it’s only Thursday).
First, it was announced that Julius Avery, director of Overlord, is coming on to direct the adaptation of Gantz that I wrote for Sony Pictures. You can read the announcement here.
And if you did read the announcement, you’ll see that it says that the script “will be [written] by” — future tense — me. Nope. It’s already written. This isn’t to say that there won’t be changes down the road — there always are — but it illustrates how these articles often get their facts wrong. Whatcha gonna do?
This week also saw the first look at the Beebo Saves Christmas animated Christmas special courtesy of TV Line. This thing’s an hour long and it’s pure joy in animated form. It’s so sweet that I fear it will make the audience diabetic.
Little bit of trivia: The original concept for the special was very (too) meta, with Beebo saving an old videotape called “Beebo Saves Christmas.” Which meant the title of the special (I kid you not) was originally going to be Beebo Saves Beebo Saves Christmas.
Ah well. Maybe next year.
Finally, on Wednesday we dropped the third issue of Last Flight Out. If you’re digitally-inclined, you can purchase it on Comixology by clicking here.
Speaking of Last Flight Out, the FOC (final order cut-off) for Issue 4 is on Wednesday, so please tell your local comic shop you’re interested. Here’s a little taste to entice you.
As always, the (stunning) art is by Eduardo Ferigato and Natália Marques.
As for workload, this week, I’ve been cracking away on PROJECT MARBLE, LA Law, the fourth issue of PROJECT CRACKERJACK, and there have been some very encouraging conversations concerning a feature film version of PROJECT ENCORE (which is kind of cool considering we haven’t even announced the comic yet). Plus, I had a lovely meeting related to Green Lantern. All in all, things are moving along swimmingly.
Next week entails some more polishing up of the LA Law script and work on PROJECT ENCORE. Lots of plates spinning at the moment…
Be good to each other.
Best,

So many awesome things going on! I love Beebo, so that is something that I can’t wait to see! Congrats on issue 3 being released. I’ll be purchasing that as soon as I finish typing this out. Great story and artwork! GREEN LANTERN!!!?!! I’d love to see David Ramsey in a series centered around that character! Thanks for the early gift with all this info! 🙏🏻😎
