Greetings, once again, from Europe where I am in the second week of my two-week excursion. (Consequently, another short one this week.)
We’re leaving Amsterdam en route to Paris. This was my first time in the Netherlands and I came away more than a little charmed and impressed. Amsterdam is a lovely city with a lot of social and political initiatives I can get behind. Bikes are encouraged and adopted over cars at a remarkable ratio. The homeless aren’t given jail sentences; they’re given jobs. No one owns a gun. Felonies are almost unheard of. And although five days is hardly definitive proof of anything, the city’s commitment to diversity in all forms seemed self-evident and apparent with no sign of the culture wars that preoccupy America.
With Trump poised to win the GOP nomination and, potentially if not likely, the White House, I’d be lying if I said I didn’t look twice at houses with realtor signs in front.
X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST - DOOMSDAY
This past Monday, I participated in AIPT.com’s weekly “X-Men Monday” series where I answered some reader questions about the upcoming Days of Future Past series. You can check out the finished product here.
I also did an interview which saw print in the pages of SFX magazine which I’ll shamelessly copy and paste here:
STAR TREK: THE MOTION PICTURE - ECHOES
(A lot of my comic book projects seem to have long titles these days.)
I just sent off lettering notes for the penultimate issue of Echoes, which includes the following exchange (which made me giggle):
These boys are just so much fun to write…
Be good to each other.
Best,
Marc
