Oy vey.
What a challenging few weeks has it been.
Short, tip-of-the-iceberg version: Last month, my father was diagnosed with a brain tumor. Although it was determined to be benign (though only after scaring us with an initial diagnosis of Stage 4 cancer), it was pressing on his temporal lobe, causing cognitive dysfunction. The tumor had to, obviously, come out.
Come out it did on Wednesday in a procedure that all the doctors have deemed “went well.” I flew back from New York this morning and hit “send” on revisions to An Innocent Girl, Spider-Man & Wolverine #5, and PROJECT BRIMSTONE.
I’m tired.
It’ll be a short one this week.
STAR WARS: JEDI KNIGHTS
Clonegeek asks:
How far do you have Jedi Knights planned out?
I’ve scripted through Issue 10, but obviously have ideas beyond that.
Speaking of, Jedi Knights #4 drops next Wednesday (6/4). This is a really fun issue which is a kind of “spiritual sequel” to my Han Solo & Chewbacca run featuring Phaedra and Marshal Vancto from that series.
My friends at AIPT have shared a preview:
IN ANY LIFETIME
It’s been a while since I bothered you all about my novel, In Any Lifetime. First, an update: As of this writing, the book has received 6,947 reviews on Amazon.com with an average of 4 out of 5 stars. In a world where most novels don’t even sell 6,947 copies, that’s a stunning level of engagement.
If you haven’t had a chance to check out the book, Amazon is running a special promotion in June where IAL will be one of the “Monthly Deals” titles receiving 80% off when purchased as a Kindle book. (Offer limited to the US, I’m afraid.)
Please consider checking it out here.
DRUNK DRIVER
A pair of Sundays ago, on the 18th, my youngest and I were on the way home from Disneyland with a family friend and a friend of my daughter’s. We were crawling along at 6 MPH, fighting our way through post-Dodgers game traffic, when we were struck from behind by a drunk driver.
I still don’t know how that car built up enough speed amidst all the congestion, but they managed to hit us at such a fast rate and in such a way that the car actually FLIPPED OVER AND LANDED RIGHT IN FRONT OF US.
Somehow, none of us in the car (our car) suffered any injuries.
2025 can really suck it.
Be good to each other.
Best,
Marc

Wow!! That is one hell of a week! I am so so so glad to hear that all of you are safe and uninjured and that your father's tumor was benign! A similar situation happened to my college friend's dad last year -- so very scary. ❤️ Sending love and light to you all! I hope you have a restful and safe weekend!
It’s good to hear that the tumor was benign. Been through the cancer thing with a few family members, so I completely understand the gravity of what that means and does to you. Arrow helped me get through that difficult time. That crash sounds absolutely insane! Happy to find that you are all safe and sound. Take care of yourself and family. Much positivity and love headed your way. 💚🏹
