Howdy.
This is a very special (for me, at least) edition of LegalDispatch.
I’m finally ready to talk about PROJECT FROST, my new novel which is called:
How ‘bout that cover, eh?
(And that was a very gracious quote from Guillermo. Muchas gracias, Maestro.)
In Any Lifetime gets its codename (PROJECT FROST) from the work of poet Robert Frost, specifically his poem The Road Not Taken which one could read as an exegesis on parallel universes.
Because parallel universes is what this book is about.
To wit: After his wife’s death, Jonas Cullen traverses the multiverse to find the one parallel universe where his wife is still alive. His quest — where even the universe itself opposes him — challenges the reader to question whether it’s possible to love someone too much.
Half the novel is a multiversal quest while the other half charts the romance between Jonas and his wife. I like to describe it as “What if Christopher Nolan had directed The Notebook?”
Here’s how my partners at Amazon Publishing describe it:
A devoted husband defies fate and risks everything to find the one universe where his beloved wife is still alive in this bold and thought-provoking novel.
Dr. Jonas Cullen has spent his career as a groundbreaking physicist defying the odds. But on the best night of his life―the night his wife, Amanda, tells him they’re finally having a baby―everything is taken away when a tragic car accident claims the lives of Amanda and their unborn child.
Gutted by pain, Jonas sets out to find a way to bring back Amanda―or rather, find a parallel universe in which she’s still alive. But that’s easier said than done. As Jonas comes to understand all too well, the universe favors certain outcomes…and Amanda’s death is one of them.
Guggenheim’s novel takes readers on a suspenseful journey, intercutting scenes of Jonas’s frantic, present-day search across multiple realities with glimpses from the past of his unfolding romance and eventual marriage. Will Jonas and Amanda reunite in some other world, or will fate succeed in taking her from him forever?
The book drops on July 16, 2024 — but it’s available for PRE-ORDER now.
Suffice it to say, it would be huge for me if you pre-ordered my baby. (Okay, that sounded weird but I think you take my point.) In Any Lifetime is available in paperback, as a Kindle book, and as an Audiobook. You can pre-order any version by clicking here.
Still not tempted? I don’t blame you. So I’ve put a copy of the first chapter up on the interwebs for your perusal (assuming I haven’t eff’d it up in some manner) which you can access by clicking here.
Thank you for your consideration and support. I truly appreciate it.
EVEN MORE PRE-ORDERING
On a related point, Barnes & Noble is running a pre-order campaign where you can get 25% off on any pre-orders by using the code PREORDER25 at checkout.

This applies to any pre-order, but this is my newsletter dammit, so I’m gonna direct you to my books (which you can pre-order by clicking on the links below):
And guess what? In Any Lifetime is also available from Barnes & Noble and eligible for the 25% discount offer by clicking here.

Catching up on Legal Dispatches and just pre-ordered, sounds fantastic. Congratulations Marc!
The Monadology is one of my favorite works of all time, whcih I have been contemplating and constantly thinking about since it was introduced to me in a Theology class while I was attending Fairfield Prep. It is even referenced in my wedding vows... so to hear about PROJECT FROST being a story about, essentially, what is possible as described in the Monadology, and of which you have done many, many comics and series and other works around the multiverse... I for one cannot wait to read this body of work from you, Marc. You are an inspirational writer and "multiplatform" ;p
Especially in this day in age, of this universe at this time, I find comfort knowing that people and things and atoms can do whatever they want, wherever they want, and anything is possible, always.
I'm not a writer, so this probably made no sense. But this does: I AM EXCITED!
