Yeah, it’s my birthday today. (So this’ll be a short one.)
What an up and down kind of week. Some (professionally) horrible news mixed with some (professionally) good-potentially-great news. A real roller-coaster and I’m not ashamed to say it truly impacted my productivity so there’s not a ton to report on that front — though I did manage to finish the sixth (and, for now, final) issue of PROJECT HIGHLAND (a/k/a Last Flight Out).
On Monday, [REDACTED] and I pitched [REDACTED] to [REDACTED]. If it goes, this would be my first foray into podcasting. Fingers crossed…
Today, I met with [REDACTED] to discuss revisions for the next draft of [REDACTED], which remains a real source of fun and inspiration. Let’s start calling it PROJECT ARTERY.
This week, I also started my annual work as the Lawyer Coach for my daughter’s school’s mock trial team. This is always a ton of fun and it’s nice to stretch those old legal muscles.
In addition to diving in on the aforementioned rewrite for the newly-christened PROJECT ARTERY, I also expect I’ll be working on the next draft of the LA Law Pilot.
In addition, I am determined to make some the progress on PROJECT ENCORE I had hoped to make this week but for the aforementioned roller-coaster.
I’m also expecting to get notes on the outline and first issue for PROJECT SOLSTICE. The early feedback from those who have read both is positive, however…
The following items are still up for sale on eBay with the proceeds going to benefit the American Cancer Society. Those items are:
A pitch board made for the Crisis On Infinite Earths pitch to the network and studio, which includes official Anti-Monitor concept art and is signed by moi.
The pitch board for Arrow Season 8, which includes concept art for Diggle/Spartan’s new green costume (with a cool detail that we didn’t ultimately get approval for). Also signed by yours truly.
The pitch board for the Elseworlds crossover, which includes the first piece of concept art for the Monitor and is signed by me.
A framed Legends of Tomorrow Season 1 poster signed by the cast.
A framed copy of Entertainment Weekly with Stephen, Grant, and Melissa. (I signed the back.)
A framed poster for Crisis On Earth-X illustrated by the legendary Phil Jimenez. (I signed the back.)
Okay, this one’s an oldie but a goodie. And rare to boot.
Back when we were discussing marketing campaign for Percy Jackson - Sea of Monsters, I was commissioned to write a motion comic to tie into the movie.
The motion comic never came to pass, but you can view a copy of my script for it here.
Well, like I said, this is a short one this week, so I’m outta here.
Be good to each other.
Best,
Marc
