Well, this is a first.
Substack informs me that this week’s edition — evidently the longest so far — is too long to save or post. So I have to divide it in two. Who’da thunk?
WORK UPDATES
Oy, what a week.
Yesterday, I actually had two in-person meetings which I had to fight through LA traffic to get to. It felt like I’d time traveled back to 2019. So strange.
Both meetings had to do with separate potential television projects. I’ve been meeting, Zooming, cogitating, and writing on a variety of different potential new series. As I told my wife, I’ve never worked harder for no money. But that’s the gig.
Speaking of television, fellow Substack newsletter The Ankler Wakeup had this to say about the premiere of the new Night Court sequel series
“Come on people” indeed. Sigh.
TORRENT
As I mentioned last newsletter, FOC for the first issue of Torrent is on Monday. For those unfamiliar with the inner workings of the comics industry, FOC stands for Final Order Cut-off, the point at which retailers need to submit their orders for any given book. It’s really important in terms of sales and a book’s prospects in the marketplace, so if you’re inclined, please tell your local comic book shop. You can also pre-order online at Midtown Comics.
To help promote the series, Image Comics — which has been so wonderfully supportive of our humble endeavor — cut together a cool trailer which is up on YouTube and —
— hey! I didn’t know Substack could imbed video. So cool!
Finally, CBR.com posted a preview of the first issue, which you can either check out here.
TO BE CONTINUED…
I wish ABC would air the pilot to burn it off just like in the old days.
